Muir PowerSync — Privacy Policy

The short version: Muir PowerSync is a work tool for field technicians. It records the work you log — service visits, fault reports, inspections, and the photos you attach — so your team has one accurate shared record. It shows no ads, uses no advertising or analytics trackers, and never sells data to anyone.
Who we are
Muir PowerSync is operated by Muir PowerSync (United Kingdom) — contact muiryo@gmail.com. Accounts are created by your administrator; the app is intended for technicians and staff of organisations using it for generator and power-equipment field work, not for the general public.
What the app collects
- Your name and login PIN — used only to identify who logged each record and to control access.
- Work records you create — service logs, fault reports, commissioning and test reports, daily activity reports, PPE inspections, times, work-site locations (tower/site names you enter — the app does not use GPS or track your device's location), equipment IDs and readings.
- Photos you choose to attach — taken or selected by you; the app never accesses your camera roll on its own.
- Email addresses you enter when sending reports — used only to send that report.
Where it's stored
Records sync to a private Google Sheets database and photos to a private Google Drive folder, both controlled by the operator. A copy of your recent work is also kept on your own device so the app works offline; you can clear this local copy from within the app at any time. Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS).
Who can see it
Your work records are visible to you, to teammates assigned to the same project (where entry sharing is enabled), and to the operator. Reports are emailed only to addresses a technician or the operator chooses. Nothing is shared with advertisers or data brokers, and nothing is sold — ever.
How long it's kept
Work records are kept as business records for as long as the operator needs them. Shareable photo links expire automatically after 90 days (the photos remain in the private archive). To have data about you corrected or deleted, contact muiryo@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera / photos — only when you choose to attach a photo.
- Network — to sync your work when you have signal. The app works fully offline and syncs later.
The app does not request your device's location, contacts, or microphone.
Children
Muir PowerSync is a workplace tool for adults and is not directed at children under 18.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with an updated date above.
